I tore apart my first chapter yesterday. It was a mess. I had been told it moved slow, which I was starting to suspect, so I took action immediately. I’m excited about what I have come up with. I think it’s a HUGE difference. I feel like the description is more real and the suspense is slightly more suspenseful. (Creative words there!)

So here is my problem, the challenging part…I’ve already queried some REALLY good agents and had a MS request that I haven’t heard back on yet. I am so disappointed in myself because now I’m going to lose those chances due to my slow starting chapter.

Has this ever happened to you? What did you do?

  1. Only requery if you have majorly vamped your query and MS. I did that with an agent and got a request for a partial second time around. But it was almost 8 months later.

    Best of Luck!

  2. What? You don’t really look like that!!! LOL

Don’t most agent tell you if they rejected you once don’t query again, or have I been reading too much Nathan Bransford?

I’m confused – why did my comment come up with such a psycho looking face? I’m laughing right now. I promise I’m not really angry with you.

Hey girl – you can always revamp your stuff, wait a few months, and requery. I THINK that’s okay…. maybe check on that though. 🙂
